Privacy Policy

Last updated · June 2026 Applies to · AmaNous Beta

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We use PostHog (Cloud, US region) to collect analytics and diagnostics so we can improve AmaNous.

AmaNous is designed to work without an account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or precise GPS location to use the app — your reading and listening content is meant to stay on your device.

❧

During the betaAnalytics and diagnostics are part of how the app operates and cannot be opted out of yet. We will notify you in-app the first time you open AmaNous. When the full release ships, this is expected to change.

i. Information we collect

AmaNous may collect analytics and diagnostics data to understand how the app is used and to keep it working well. This includes:

  • App activity — interactions, feature usage, and navigation
  • Basic session activity — how often the app is opened
  • Crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data — errors, latency, and stability signals
  • A pseudonymous User ID
  • Device information — model, OS version, app version, and language
  • Approximate location — city or region, inferred from your IP address

We design our analytics to avoid collecting the text or content you load into AmaNous. In rare cases, crash diagnostics might capture technical context if it is needed to fix a bug. Your reading and listening content is intended to stay on your device.

ii. What we never collect

What we collect

  • Anonymous app & session activity
  • Crash logs & performance signals
  • A pseudonymous User ID
  • Device & OS details
  • Approximate city / region from IP

What we never collect

  • Your name, email, or phone number
  • Your contacts
  • Precise GPS location
  • The content you read or listen to

iii. How we use and share data

We use analytics and diagnostics data to understand feature usage, improve the experience, diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the app's performance and reliability.

We do not share user data with other companies for their marketing. We use PostHog (Cloud) as our analytics provider, hosting and processing data in the United States (US region).

Where required by law, we rely on consent or another lawful basis to process analytics and diagnostic data. During the beta, analytics collection is part of how the app operates, and you will be notified in-app.

iv. Data retention, security & your choices

We keep analytics and diagnostics data only as long as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and improve AmaNous, and to meet legal or security obligations where applicable.

We use reasonable security measures, including encryption in transit and internal access controls.

During the beta, analytics cannot be opted out of. You may disable network access or uninstall AmaNous to stop data collection. To request deletion of your data, contact johannes@amanous.ai with identifying information if possible, and we will make reasonable efforts to find and delete it.

v. Website waitlist

The AmaNous app does not ask for your email. If you choose to join our waitlist on this website, we store the email address (and any details) you submit with our email provider, Loops, solely to contact you about AmaNous. We do not sell or share it for others' marketing, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message we send — or by emailing johannes@amanous.ai.

vi. Children

AmaNous is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

vii. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, if changes are material, provide additional notice in-app or via the store listing where appropriate.

viii. Contact

If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at johannes@amanous.ai.
